red deer alberta fly fishing

In this video scene, guest Jim McLennan casts to a nice 25" brown tucked into the bank. We first spotted the trout as we floated in the boat. We noticed it was quite tight to the bank and that there was a thunderhead moving in. The wind began to pick up and before long it switched direction, coming straight downstream, naturally. Jim was able to work the casts into the shoreline without slamming his line or fly. If you can do that, you stand a great chance at hooking into one of the Red Deer River's large brown trout. The video is a little shaky due to no tripod being used - sorry! The other videos are much more stable.

That's also Jim playing guitar in this video. Be sure to visit Jim & Lynda McLennan's website at www.mclennanflyfishing.com
